Ways to Give

There are many ways to give to the Healthy Acres Healthy Communities Foundation.  We would be happy to discuss options with you that will meet your gift planning wishes.

A Gift in your Will or Trust

A will allows you to decide now how to support a cause you love in the future. It allows you to continue to use your asset or property during your life and leave it to charity. Another benefit is being able to leave a lasting legacy.

Making a bequest is easy!

  • Decide the kind of bequest you want to make.
    The most popular forms are:
Residual Gift – You leave the residual of your estate, including real and personal property or a percentage of the residual to Healthy Acres Healthy Communities Foundation.
Percentage of Estate – You specify a percentage of your overall estate to give to HAHCF.
Fixed Amount or Designated Property – You give a fixed amount money and/or a particular property to HAHCF
  • Consult your attorney to help you include a gift to HAHCF in your estate plan.
  • Contact us at HAHCF, this will ensure we can honor any restrictions you may have placed in your bequest and it gives us the opportunity thank you and include you in our legacy gift recognition.

IRA Charitable Rollover

An IRA charitable rollover is a way you can make a big difference to help further our mission. Money from an IRA account can be donated to a qualifying charity. If you’ve reached the age where you need to make required minimum distributions (RMDs) from your traditional IRAs, you can donate up to $100,000 without it being considered a taxable distribution. For more information, please contact us.

Montana Endowment Tax Credit

Since 1997 Montana law has provided a tax credit for certain types of gifts to nonprofit organizations. This credit is offered to individuals, businesses, corporations and estates.

Donors who make a planned gift to a permanent endowment may be eligible for a credit of 40% of the qualifying gift, to a maximum of $10,000.

Some businesses may also qualify for the credit through outright or planned gifts to endowments.
